Candleholder Workshop

Objective  This is a project-based course in which each student will fabricate a beautiful honeycomb candleholder. You will learn a unique technique that can be used for assembling flatware, hollowware, or jewelry components. You will work with specialized tools and use a manufactured form to make a large honeycomb tessellation that is the focal element of the candleholder. Experience how satisfying it is to craft an heirloom-worthy decorative object!

Students will complete the honeycomb candleholder project and learn techniques for assembling various components.  Each student will leave with a printed handout of detailed instructions that includes a list of resources to acquire supplies to make a matching candleholder or for other flatware, hollowware and jewelry projects.

Skill Level  Intermediate soldering, sawing and fabricating skills required.

Costs and Procedures  Tuition for the Honeycomb Candleholder Workshop $400 for 6 class sessions. Tuition does not include materials.  A $75 non refundable deposit is required to secure a space in the course. The balance is due at the first class. Checks, cash and credit cards are accepted. You may request an invoice to be sent via email that will include instructions to pay by credit card or check.

Materials Each student must bring to the first class enough silver or copper for the following:
